Jr Broadway is a youth musical theatre program based in Caledonia, created to give local children and teens the opportunity to experience the magic of live theatre close to home.
There are limited opportunities for youth to participate in musical theatre in our community, often requiring families to travel to larger centres. Jr Broadway was created to help change that by bringing high-quality youth theatre opportunities right here to our community.
Our performers do much more than learn lines and songs. Throughout each production, they develop confidence, communication, teamwork, creativity, and perseverance while taking part in many different aspects of theatre, including acting, vocals, choreography, set design, costumes, props, hair and makeup, and backstage production.
The impact of Jr Broadway extends beyond the young performers on stage.
Live theatre brings people together. It gives families and community members the opportunity to experience storytelling, music, and performance together while creating memories that last long after the curtain closes.
We are also proud to welcome local schools and community programs to our performances, including groups who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend live theatre. These experiences allow us to introduce new audiences to the performing arts and help build a lasting appreciation for theatre within our community.
Our goal is to create meaningful experiences both on and off the stage while encouraging the next generation of performers, audiences, and theatre lovers.
