Welcome to the Before & After School Program!
Our Before & After School Program provides a welcoming, engaging environment for school-age children before and after their school day.
We offer walking transportation to and from Grand River Public School and Pope Francis, making the transition between school and our centre easy and convenient for families. We also provide bus drop-off and pick-up for children attending the Notre Dame and River Heights French Immersion programs.
Our program gives children a chance to start and end their day in a comfortable, familiar environment where they can relax, connect with friends, and enjoy activities that reflect their interests. Our educators provide a balance of structured activities, creative experiences, outdoor play, games, and opportunities for children to make choices and enjoy independent play.
Before school, children can enjoy a relaxed start to their day, with time for a snack, quiet activities, and connecting with friends before heading off to school. After school, they have the opportunity to unwind, enjoy a snack, play, spend time outdoors, and participate in activities before heading home.
Our Before & After School Program also provides full-day care on PD Days, school holidays, and other scheduled school closures. These days give children the opportunity to enjoy a full day of play, exploration, and connection with their friends in a familiar environment.
Full-day programming includes a variety of age-appropriate activities, outdoor play, creative experiences, games, community walks, and opportunities for child-led play. Our educators plan activities around the children's interests while also leaving plenty of time for them to simply enjoy being kids.
During school breaks, we make the most of having extra time together by creating fun and engaging experiences that are different from the regular school-day routine.
We believe school-age children benefit from having opportunities to build independence, confidence, friendships, and life skills. Our educators encourage children to take responsibility for their belongings, make choices, problem-solve, work together, and participate in the daily routines of the program.
