At Grand River Early Learning Academy, we strive to create a nurturing environment that meets every child’s current stage of development, and challenges them to meet new milestones.  We take a multi-curricular approach and tailor our environment to foster growth and learning in all children.  Our nature inspired, home like setting creates an enriching space for children to explore and discover the world around them.  Grand River Early Learning Academy is a place for every child to reach their full potential.

Our educators view the children to be competent, capable, and independent.  They have the opportunity to use their curiosity in every aspect of their learning while engaging in positive and responsive interactions among other children, staff and families.  Children are taught practical-life skills that promote their health, safety, nutrition and well-being.  They learn to interact and communicate in a way that supports their ability to self-regulate.

Staff at Grand River Early Learning Academy support and guide the children by creating a positive learning environment full of rich experiences.  Children have the opportunity to initiate experiences with program staff, and staff will expand learning and development by building on the children’s interests.  During these interactions staff engage the children in learning and encourage them to interact and communicate in a positive way and support their ability to self-regulate within their interactions. Staff initiate dialogue with the children that supports problem solving and co-learning throughout the entire day.  

In our Academy you will see a wide variety of open-ended play materials in loosely defined areas so that children can freely use the materials to support their exploration, inquiry and play with bodies, minds, and senses, along with photos of the children engaged in play, and learning stories that document the children’s experiences.
